Sinéad O'Connor’s last wishes for her children have been disclosed following her tragic death at 56 in July 2023. The iconic singer, best known for hits like "Nothing Compares to 2 U," left behind three surviving children. At the time of her death, her estate was valued at £1.7 million but decreased to £1.4 million (approx. MYR 7.6 million) after covering debts, legal fees, and funeral expenses.

Irish probate records, shared by The Sun, show that O'Connor's estate will be divided among her children. The singer, who sold 6.2 million albums worldwide, also left a unique request for her music legacy. According to a signed 2013 document, O'Connor directed her children to "milk it for what it's worth" by releasing her albums.

She wrote, "I direct that after my death, and at the discretion of any of my children who are then over 18, my albums are to be released to 'milk it for what it’s worth.'" Additionally, she gave her children the freedom to handle her ashes as they see fit.

O'Connor passed away on July 26, 2023, after being found unresponsive in her London home. She had four children: Shane (who tragically died by suicide in 2022), Jake Reynolds (37), Roisin Waters (29), and Yeshua Bonadio (18).

In her will, O'Connor made specific bequests for her children: her religious regalia was to be passed to Shane, and her guitar collection was left to Yeshua. She also named her ex-husband, music producer John Reynolds, as the executor of her estate. The couple was married from 1987 to 1991.

A year after her death, in July 2024, O'Connor's official cause of death was revealed as an "exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and bronchial asthma together with low-grade lower respiratory tract infection," according to her death certificate. Her passing was formally registered by her ex-husband in London.

O'Connor’s legacy, marked by both her groundbreaking music and her personal struggles, continues to resonate with fans around the world.
