Priscilla, 79, shared a touching tribute on Instagram, posting a photo of Lisa Marie and writing, "I miss you more than words can say. I wish I could hold you, talk to you, see your smile just one more time. I wish you could see how much you are still loved, how deeply you are missed by all of us who carry you in our hearts."
Lisa Marie Presley, the only daughter of Priscilla and Elvis Presley, passed away on January 12, 2023, at the age of 54. Her death was attributed to complications from bariatric surgery, which led to a fatal bowel obstruction. In the months leading up to her passing, Lisa Marie had experienced abdominal pain and nausea.
Riley Keough, Lisa Marie's 35-year-old daughter and actress, also remembered her mother in an Instagram Story post. "I can't believe it's been 2 years," Keough wrote. "I miss you and love you so much mama."
Lisa Marie's sudden death occurred just days after she attended the 80th Golden Globe Awards, where Baz Luhrmann’s biopic Elvis was nominated for three awards, including Best Motion Picture — Drama. Austin Butler, who portrayed Elvis Presley in the film, won the Best Actor award, beating out Brendan Fraser (The Whale) and Bill Nighy (Living). During his acceptance speech, Butler expressed his gratitude to the Presley family, saying, "Thank you for opening your hearts, your memories, your home to me. Lisa Marie, Priscilla, I love you forever."
At a pre-party for the Golden Globes, Lisa Marie expressed pride in the film, saying, "I'm so overwhelmed by this film and the effect that it's had and what Baz has done, what Austin has done. I'm so proud. And I know that my father would also be very proud."
