Sharon Osbourne recently admitted to what she calls the "biggest mistake" in managing her husband Ozzy Osbourne’s career—turning down an opportunity for him to audition for Pirates of the Caribbean.

Speaking on The Magnificent Others With Billy Corgan, Sharon revealed, “He got offered to go and read for Pirates of the Caribbean, and I've never said this to anyone. I said no. Now, wouldn’t he have been perfect?” She referenced Johnny Depp’s well-known request to have Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards appear in the franchise, playing Captain Jack Sparrow’s father, Captain Teague.
The Pirates of the Caribbean series, which began with The Curse of the Black Pearl in 2003, became a massive success, grossing over $1.4 billion at the box office. Alongside Depp, the films featured stars like Orlando Bloom, Keira Knightley, and Geoffrey Rush. Richards did eventually join the franchise, and in a later installment, music legend Paul McCartney made a cameo as Uncle Jack.

Around the time Keith Richards appeared in the Pirates films, Ozzy Osbourne was at the height of his reality TV fame with The Osbournes on MTV. Since then, the legendary rocker has faced health struggles, revealing his Parkinson’s diagnosis in 2020 and officially retiring from touring in 2023 due to a long-standing spinal injury.
Despite stepping away from touring, Ozzy is set for a monumental final performance. Black Sabbath recently announced that its original lineup will reunite on July 5 at Villa Park in Birmingham, England—marking the first time in 20 years the band will perform together on stage. The concert is being hailed as “the greatest heavy metal show ever.”
