Michael Bolton, 71, is spending the holiday season surrounded by loved ones after a challenging year. The singer, known for hits like "How Am I Supposed to Live Without You," shared a festive photo with his family on Facebook on Christmas Day. The image comes after Bolton’s battle with a brain tumor and subsequent surgery just before last year’s holidays.

“Sending warm wishes for a holiday season filled with peace, love, and joy,” Bolton captioned the post. “May the New Year bring health, happiness, and countless moments to cherish.” He added, “Here’s to fresh starts and beautiful moments in 2024!”
The picture shows Bolton sitting on a couch with four family members, three of whom are wearing matching pajama tops. The whole family is dressed in Christmas attire, with the singer sporting a Santa hat and a festive Grinch shirt under a black sweater, wrapped in a light blue holiday blanket decorated with presents, snowmen, and Christmas trees.

Bolton shares three daughters — Isa, Holly, and Taryn — with his ex-wife Maureen McGuire, and is also a proud grandfather to six grandchildren. In a recent interview, Bolton shared that his kids and grandkids enjoy joking about his famous long locks from the '80s and '90s, with his grandchildren sometimes poking fun at his celebrity.
In January 2023, Bolton shared the news of his brain tumor diagnosis and the surgery he underwent. He expressed gratitude for the successful procedure and the support of his medical team, and took time off from performing to focus on his recovery. “I am now recuperating at home and surrounded by the tremendous love and support of my family,” he wrote at the time. “I’m working hard to accelerate my recovery and get back to performing soon.”

In August, fans were concerned after reports of a police presence at Bolton’s Connecticut home, but he quickly reassured everyone that all was well, attributing the situation to a landscaping project.
Though Bolton had to cancel several concerts in October due to his health, he remains optimistic about his recovery. "It is challenging and often frustrating because I just want to be out there performing, but I need a little more time to build back my full strength,” he explained on Facebook. He also teased exciting upcoming projects, which fans will hear more about soon.
Bolton is currently scheduled to perform at the O2 in London in July 2025.
