What began as an ordinary day turned shocking for one Malaysian woman when her thermos flask, filled with watermelon juice, unexpectedly exploded and shattered her car’s windscreen.

TikTok user @pinky_lollipops shared a video of the aftermath, showing a circular crack on her car’s windscreen and shattered glass scattered across the passenger seat.

In the comments, she explained the incident was not caused by hot water but rather by fermented watermelon juice left in the thermos flask.

“It wasn’t hot water,” she clarified. “It was watermelon juice that had spoiled. The fermentation produced gas, and since the car was parked under the hot sun, the gas particles became more aggressive, causing the explosion.”

The video quickly gained traction, amassing over 1.1 million views and more than 308 comments. Many netizens were shocked by the incident, with some sharing similar experiences or offering safety tips to avoid such accidents in the future.

This unexpected mishap serves as a reminder to exercise caution when storing liquids in sealed containers, especially under extreme heat conditions.

Just a safety reminder: Avoid keeping items like thermos flasks with liquids, pressurized cans, or other potentially hazardous objects like powerbank, vape, lighters, in your car, especially when parked under the hot sun. The heat can cause unexpected accidents like explosions or damage.
