Malaysia is preparing for a huge tourism push, and the excitement is already palpable! On January 7, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim officially launched the Visit Malaysia Year 2026 campaign, and the online reception has been overwhelmingly positive.

The new logo has caught the attention of netizens, with many praising its vibrant design and typography, calling it a showstopper in its own right.
However, the real highlight of the campaign are the newly unveiled mascots—Wira and Manja. Fans have already expressed their desire for plushie versions of these adorable characters, and Tourism Malaysia has confirmed that merchandise plans are underway.
The mascots, Wira (male) and Manja (female), are designed to embody Malaysia’s cultural identity. Dressed in elegant blue outfits with traditional patterns, they represent the Malayan Sun Bear, a species native to the region.
Tourism Malaysia also clarified that Wira and Manja are not AI-generated, putting to rest any doubts about their origins.
With the campaign’s official launch and the buzz surrounding its mascots and merchandise, it looks like the Visit Malaysia Year 2026 initiative is off to a stellar start!
