The holiday dates are as follows, subject to moon sighting:

  • March 31 (Monday): First day of Hari Raya

  • April 1 (Tuesday): Second day of Hari Raya

  • April 2 (Wednesday): Third day of Hari Raya

This arrangement allows Malacca residents to enjoy a 5-day break, including the weekend on March 29 and 30.

The new 3-day holiday replaces the Awal Ramadan public holiday. Announced by Malacca Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh in 2024, the proposal was approved to provide a longer Hari Raya break for residents. As a result, the Awal Ramadan holiday will only be observed in Kedah and Johor in 2025.
