It’s safe to say that 2020 has been quite a stressful year, especially with the global COVID-19 pandemic. It’s definitely taken a toll on our mental health as well.
It must have also affected this Italian man, who was reported to have walked over 450KM to cool off after an argument with his wife.
Social media users have nicknamed the man as “Forrest Gump”, after the fictional character that was played by Tom Hanks, who ran thousands of miles across the US.
Police stopped the man’s walk a week after he left his home in the north of Italy. The man was fined €400 (approx RM1,974) for breaching the quarantine curfew law.
The man was found wandering around aimlessly on the coastal highway and he said that he’s met a lot of people on his journey to nowhere and they’ve even offered him food and drinks. It was reported that the man walked an average of 60KM every day.
After checking his ID, the police database found out that he was reported missing by his wife, so they contacted her and she travelled from Como to Fano to collect him.
