Well, here’s something that we never thought we’d ever read, but apparently is backed by research now. In a surprising plot twist, a research by a US-based study has produced initial findings that being lazy could actually be a sign of intelligence!

As if that’s not shocking enough, the study goes on to suggest that active people are more easily bored, which is why they need to occupy and stimulate their minds with more external activities. Cue synchronised gasps at the count of three!

The study, in a form of questionnaire given to 30 ‘thinkers’ and ‘non-thinkers’ who have to wear an activity-tracking device, showed that ‘thinkers’ were far less active than the ‘non-thinkers’ group.

In other words, the people who you see hitting the gym or park for a run regularly could be in need of mental stimulation whereas people who are less active are most likely occupied – and happy – with their thoughts.

The study does however, caution that everybody, no matter the level of intelligence, should keep active as the lack of physical activity could have a negative impact on lifestyle.
