Wayne Rooney's testimonial match ends goalless

Aug 04, 2016

Wayne Rooney's Manchester United testimonial match against Everton at Old Trafford ended goalless, as the striker marked 12 years of service with the Red Devils.

New signings Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Eric Bailly both made their first home appearances, while former United managers Alex Ferguson and David Moyes were also in attendance.

Rooney was given a guard of honour as he emerged from the tunnel with his children Kai, Klay, and 7-month-old Kit, with the word 'Rooney' spelt out in the Sir Alex Ferguson Stand.

He has scored 245 goals in 520 United appearances, since joining United from Everton in 2004.
