Syed Sadiq: Nicol deserves more than a pension

Feb 21, 2019

The Youth and Sports Minister says Datuk Nicol David deserves more than just a pension, for her contributions to the country.

Syed Sadiq says the National Sports Council is still in talks with the squash queen, to see if it can help out with her future plans.

This, after Nicol announced that she's hanging up her raquet at the end of the season, in June.

Meanwhile, she'll be in action this weekend, at the World Squash Championship in Chicago, US.

Nicol, who is seeded 13th, will go up against Egyptian Menna Nasser.

Zidane rules out mid-season Chelsea move

Zinedine Zidane has reportedly ruled out joining Chelsea in mid-season, if under-fire Blues boss Maurizio Sarri is sacked.

The Frenchman is taking a sabbatical, after leaving Real Madrid at the end of last season, and he sees no need to cut his break short.

In fact, some reports claim that Zidane may even extend his holiday by another year.

Real to offer Bale to Spurs?

Spanish repors claim that Real Madrid are prepared to offer Gareth Bale to his former club Tottenham in exchange for Christian Eriksen.

Bale has become increasingly sidelined at Real, with 18-year-old Vincius Junior jumping ahead of the Welshman in the pecking order.

Bale himself is refusing to leave, and wants to prove himself at the club.
