Strong start for Msian reps at BWF World Finals

Malaysian men's doubles pair Aaron Chia/Soh Wooi Yik posted a straight sets win, in their opening Group B match at the BWF World Tour Finals in Bangkok

However, Ong Yew Sin/Teo Ee Yi have lost their opening match in Group A

In the women's doubles, Chow Mei Kuan/Lee Meng Yean needed 3 sets to beat fellow Malaysian duo Vivian Hoo/Yap Cheng Wen.

Nadal, Serena Back Tough Aussie Open SOPs

Rafa Nadal and Serena Williams have given their full support to the strict COVID-19 SOPs that are in place ahead of the Australian Open, saying the rules will help keep everyone safe. 

This, after other players complained about the conditions they have to isolate themselves in. 

Meanwhile, the number of positive COVID-19 tests linked to the Australian Open has been downgraded to eight, after health authorities reclassified one of the results as a previous infection.

More than 70 players have been confined to hotel rooms for two weeks after a number passengers on the charter flights taking them to Australia tested positive for the coronavirus.

Chelsea eye Dortmund teen

Chelsea could step up their pursuit of Borussia Dortmund teenager Jude Bellingham, now that Thomas Tuchel is in charge at Stamford Bridge. 

The Blues were also linked with the 17-year-old midfielder last year, but their interest cooled as then-manager Frank Lampard wanted to pursue other targets. 

Tuchel was confirmed as Chelsea's new manager, on an initial 18-month deal.
