Jul 21, 2020

Cristiano Ronaldo has become the first player ever to score 50 goals or more in the Serie A, La Liga (Real Madrid) and the Premier League (Man United).

This, after he netted twice in Juventus’ 2-1 win over Lazio this morning.

It also brings Ronaldo’s goal tally for the current campaign to 30 – making him the joint top scorer in the Serie A this season.

The win moves Juve eight points clear at the top of the table, with four matches to go.

Wolves kept alive their hopes of playing Europa League football next season, with a 2-0 win over Crystal Palace.

While Sheffield United missed out on a top-six finish, after falling to a 1-0 defeat to Everton.

No Ballon d'Or this year

For the first time since 1956, the Ballon d’Or award for the world’s best footballers will not be handed out.

Organisers blamed the Covid-19 pandemic, which they say has caused a lack of sufficient fair conditions to properly assess and evaluate the players this year.

Barcelona’s Lionel Messi was last year’s men’s winner, while USA forward Megan Rapinoe claimed the women’s trophy.
