The defender was forced off in Real's shock defeat to Sevilla in La Liga this morning, and could now miss Atletico's visit on Sunday.

He is also doubtful for Real's Champions League trip to CSKA Moscow next week.

Pickford pens new deal

Goalkeeper Jordan Pickford has signed a new six-year contract with Everton.

The 24-year-old has impressed for the Toffees since joining from Sunderland last year, and has established himself as the England number one - starting all their matches at the recent at the World Cup.

Arsenal have reportedly given up on trying to get Aaron Ramsey to sign a new contract.

Both parties have been in talks for months over a new deal, but discussions are believed to have finally broken down. 

Ramsey should now be allowed to leave the Gunners on a free transfer at the end of the season.

Gareth Southgate is reportedly on the verge of signing a new deal to remain as England boss until after the 2022 World Cup.

Southgate guided the Three Lions to a fourth place finish at the recent World Cup, equalling the team's best-ever finish since 1966.
