Osaka confirms US Open attendance, Barty pulls out

Jul 30, 2020

Former champion Naomi Osaka has confirmed that she will play in next month’s US tennis Open in New York.

Her management team denied reports that she could skip the tournament next month, due to COVID-19 concerns.

This will be the first time since 2010 that the US Open is being held without the top women's singles player.

Chelsea have reportedly approached representatives of Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre Ter Stegen, about a possible move to Stamford Bridge.

Ter Stegen's future at Barca is said to be in doubt, after he was told to accept a pay cut if he wants to stay at the Camp Nou.

Meanwhile Chelsea are looking to replace Kepa Arrizabalaga over his inconsistent form this season.

Besides Ter Stegen, the Blues are also eyeing Ajax's Andre Onana and Man United's Dean Henderson.
