Mercedes' 100th pole position

Lewis Hamilton has given Mercedes the F1 team's 100th pole position. 

This, after the newly-minted world champion posted the fastest qualifying time, ahead of Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel and Mercedes teammate Valtteri Bottas. 

Mercedes will clinch the constructors title this weekend, unless Ferrari outscore them by 13 points on race day.

Alonso may be leaving F1, but not McLaren

Fernando Alonso will continue to race for McLaren next year - just not in Formula 1. 

The Spaniard, who's leaving F1 at the end of the season, will partner with McLaren to race in the Indianapolis 500 next May. 

It will be the second time Alonso has taken part in the Indy 500, has he led last year's race before retiring with an engine problem.

Liverpool deny being sold

Liverpool have rubbished claims that owner John W Henry is open to selling the club.

It was commenting on reports, that Henry is looking for at least 2 billion dollars for the Merseyside outfit.
