Malaysian Olympics gold medalists will receive RM1mil reward

The PM says athletes who win a gold medal for Malaysia in this August's Olympics in Brazil will receive a reward of 1 million ringgit from the government.

Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak adds they will also receive a monthly pension of RM5,000.

Meanwhile, the silver and bronze medalist will take home a monthly pension of RM3,000 and RM2,000 respectively.

A total of 32 athletes will be representing Malaysia at various events at the games.
