Luciano Spalletti: Perišić was "conned" into Arsenal

Feb 01, 2019

Inter Milan boss Luciano Spalletti has criticised Arsenal's brief pursuit of winger Ivan Perišić.

Spalletti suggests that The Gunners' interest was never entirely serious, which left the Croatian unsettled about his future.

Perišić handed in a transfer request when he heard the news, only to find out that Arsenal only wanted a loan deal, without a compulsory option to buy.

However, Spalletti says the damage is done, and will now focus on getting Perišić back to top form.

China opens its doors to Chelsea's Olivier Giroud

Chinese club Dalian Yifang are said to be still interested in Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud, despite him turning down an offer from them once before.

This, after the Frenchman admitted earlier this week, that he will likely leave Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.

There's still over three weeks left before the Chinese transfer window closes, and Dalian could convince Giroud to move to China.

Giroud also said he'd be open to return to the French League, with Lyon reportedly monitoring his situation.

Arsenal captain Laurent Koscielny has returned to full training, ahead of his side's Premiership clash against Man City on Monday.

This, after scans confirmed he hadn't suffered a fractured jaw as feared earlier, putting him in contention for the match at the Etihad.
