At the Korea Badminton Open, men's singles player Liew Daren pulled off a surprise win over China's Lin Dan, with a decisive 21-19, 21-14 scoreline.

This is the first time Daren has defeated the 2-time Olympic champion in their 3 encounters.

Joining him in the second round is Lee Zii Jia, as well as men's doubles players Goh V Shem/Tan Wee Kiong.

Fresh off his win as Fifa's Best Player of the year, Lionel Messi has picked up an injury.

He suffered a thigh problem in the second half of Barcelona's narrow win over Villareal, in what was his first start of the La Liga season.

However, Barca boss Ernesto Valverde has played down the injury, saying everyone always overreacts when something happens to Messi.

Paul Pogba reportedly wants Man United to double his already sky-high salary, before he agrees to a new long-term deal at Old Trafford.

According to Spanish media, that would take his weekly salary to a staggering 600 thousand pounds a week!

The report adds, this is the latest tactic being used by Pogba's agent, to force United to sell him to Real Madrid, after a failed attempt during the summer.
