Klopp wins LMA Manager of the Year prize

Jurgen Klopp has picked up another accolade. 

The Liverpool boss has been named the League Manager's Association Manager of the Year after guiding his side to the Premier League title.

Former Man United boss Sir Alex Ferguson announced Klopp as the winner, and paid tribute to the German's accomplishment.

"Jurgen, fantastic! Liverpool, 30 years since winning the league...incredible! Really thoroughly deserved". 

Fergie added: "The performance level of your team was outstanding. Your personality went right thru the whole club. I think its a marvelous performance. You thoroughly deserve it, well done!"

Klopp, meanwhile, dedicated the award to his backroom staff.

"I am here on behalf of my coaches. I say it a lot of times...I'm only OK as a manager, but they make us a really special bunch of football brains. To my players, all the people i work with...i take this for all of us who work together"

Klopp is also favourite to land the Premier League Manager of the Year award which will be announced early next month.

Mbappe to miss Champions League clash

Kylian Mbappe will miss PSG's Champions League quarterfinal clash against Atalanta next month after picking up an ankle injury.

The striker has been ruled out for at least three weeks, meaning he could make it back in time for the semifinal if PSG make it that far.

The conclusion of the Champions League will be played as an eight-team straight knockout tournament starting in early August.

Malaysia to host AFC Champions League ties

Malaysia has been chosen as the centralised venue for the 2020 AFC Champions League East Zone Group G and H matches.

The ties are scheduled to take place from mid-October.

Malaysia will also host the round of 16, two quarterfinal matches and one semifinal tie.
