Japan to protect Tokyo Games against hackers

Oct 20, 2020

Cybersecurity counter measures will be put in place to ensure that the Tokyo Olympics will go on smoothly.

The Japanese govt said this, following a series of cyberattacks by Russian hackers in a bid to disrupt the Tokyo Games and Paralympics.

Japan says they’re in close talks with the UK and US govt over the issue.

Experts believe the cyberattacks are due to investigations into Russia’s doping scandal five years ago.

As such, Russia has been banned from the world’s top sporting events for four years, including the Tokyo Games.

However, he will undergo self-isolation for 10 days as per UK govt and EFL guidelines.

This means the Derby County Captain will miss out three of their upcoming matches, including their Champions League clash against Huddersfield.

Last week, Rooney was unknowingly visited by a friend who was infected by the coronavirus.
