Indian shuttler wins Australian Badminton Open

India's Kidambi Srikanth has won the Australian Badminton Open, after beating Olympic champ Chen Long for the first time.

The 11th-ranked Srikanth took about 45 minutes to defeat the Chinese superstar in straight sets.

This is the Indian rep's 2nd successive Superseries title, after winning the Indonesia Open earlier this month.

Chen Long on the other hand, is on the comeback trail from a long-term injury, and has not won a Superseries title since 2014.

He adds that he's not at his physical best, as he has been suffering from gastroenteritis and diarrhoea since arriving in Sydney.
