IOC rules out closed door Olympics

The International Olympic Committee says it is NOT keen on holding the Tokyo Games behind closed doors, despite the COVID-19 outbreak.

The IOC says looking at multiple scenarios to organise the games WITH spectators in attendance.

But it assures that safety WILL be a top priority.

The Tokyo Olympics were postponed for a year due to the coronavirus.

The application deadline for the govt's Prihatin Sport Initiative has been extended for sport teams registered with the Sports Commissioner’s Office. 
 
The new deadline is now August 15th. 
 
The govt earlier announced a 10 million ringgit allocation for the initiative, to ease the financial burden on sports associations due to COVID-19
