Goh Jin Wei is back in training

Nov 21, 2019

National women's singles shuttler Goh Jin Wei has resumed light training, following her lengthy layoff due to illness.

The 19-year-old underwent an operation last month in a bid to save her career, having struggled with a persistent stomach ailment.

The former world junior champion says she's not concerned with dropping down the rankings, and will take all the time she needs to get back to full fitness.

Jin Wei, who is the SEA Games champion, will not be defending her gold medal because of her condition, and will also miss out on a spot at the Olympics.

Jose Mourinho starts job as new Spurs coach

Jose Mourinho has conducted his first training session as Tottenham's new manager, after taking over from the sacked Mauricio Pochettino.

The Portuguese also brought over three members of his backroom staff, who used to work for him during his earlier spell at Manchester United.

Mourinho will be officially unveiled to the press later today, as he prepares for his first game in charge - this weekend's Premiership trip to West Ham.

Meanwhile, Mourinho has reportedly hinted that he may not make any new signings in January.

Sources say he's prepared to work with the squad that he has inherited from Pochettino, and will also focus on convincing players like Christian Eriksen to stay at the club.

Meanwhile, separate reports say the Spurs boss is eyeing a summer move for Real Madrid's Gareth Bale.

Mourinho tried unsuccesfully to sign the Welsh winger, during his earlier spell in charge of Man United.

Safawi Rasid will not feature for SEA Games

Harimau Malaya hotshot Safawi Rasid has been left out of the squad for the upcoming SEA Games, despite his 2-goal heroics in the win over Indonesia on Tuesday.

Under-22 coach Datuk Ong Kim Swee says the 2019 MVP needs rest, having had a long season with the senior national team and with JDT.

Kim Swee is in the midst of finalising his squad, before they leave for Manila on Saturday to begin their final preparations for the Games.
