Frank Lampard slams British press over fake England lineup

Jun 24, 2018

Former England star, Frank Lampard has slammed the British press, for publishing a photo of what looked to be England's starting lineup for their World Cup game against Panama.

He says the leak should not have happened, and it could hurt the team's preparations for the match.

This comes days after several newspapers and online publications circulated the image of England assistant boss Steve Holland holding a piece of paper containing player names and tactics.

Meanwhile, manager Gareth Southgate played down the leak, saying the line-up in the photograph will not be the side that plays tonight.

Southgate also confirmed that Dele Alli will miss the game due to thigh strain.

The Three Lions are guaranteed to qualify from Group G if they beat Panama.
