English clubs top their Europa League groups

All three English clubs in the Europa League will go into the knockout round as group winners.

Arsenal topped Group B with a 4-2 win over Dundalk, that also maintained their 100 percent record this campaign.

Elsewhere Leicester City finished as Group G winners after their 2-0 win over AEK Athens.

While Tottenham go thru to the knockout round as Group J winners, after a 2-0 win over Antwerp.

All three English teams will now be seeded in the draw for the knockout round, which should ensure a more favourable tie in the last-32.

Belgium top world rankings again

Belgium have finished the year as the number one team in the FIFA world rankings, for the third year running.

Roberto Martinez’s side came ahead of world champions France, while Brazil, England and Portugal round up the top five.

The Malaysian national team, meanwhile, remained at number 153.

Hamilton gets the green light

Its confirmed that Lewis Hamilton will return for this weekend’s F1 season finale at Abu Dhabi, after testing negative for Covid-19.

This also means that George Russell – who sat in for him last weekend – will now return to Williams.

It may be quiet in the Olympic pool

Swimming legend Michael Phelps says its unlikely we’ll see any world records being broken in the pool at the Tokyo Olympics.

The 23-time gold medallist says its because swimmers around the world have had their preparations disrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic.
