Defending champion reaches semis of US tennis open
Sep 07, 2016
Defending champion, Novak Djokovic has reached the semifinals of the US tennis Open after Jo-Wilfried Tsonga retired from their last 8 match due to an injury.
Djokovic told ESPN he feels for Jo-Wilfried: "Obviously I have to say this again, I have to wish Jo a quick recovery. It's never nice to be on the court in the quarters of a grand slam. This is something I'm sure he didn't wish for. I'm sure he didnt want this to happen."
Djokovic has completed just 2 out of 5 matches on his way to the semis, courtesy of a walkover and two retirements.
