Datuk Lee Chong Wei crashes out of Indian Badminton Open

Apr 01, 2016

Top seed, Datuk Lee Chong Wei has crashed out in the 2nd round of the Indian Badminton Open, after a shock defeat to Hong Kong's Wei Nan.

This is his 2nd straight defeat to the world number 14, having gone down to the Hong Kong shuttler in the Denmark Open last October, also in the 2nd round.

It's also his 2nd defeat in the early rounds of a tournament, following his 1st round loss to unheralded B. Sai Praneeth at the All England Open.

However, Chong Wei was not the only shocking casualty, as world number 2, Lin Dan and world number 5, Jan O Jorgensen also crashed out.
