Cristiano Ronaldo scores 125th Champions League goal

Apr 11, 2019

An own-goal from Luke Shaw saw Manchester United suffer a 1-nil defeat to Barcelona, in their Champions League quarterfinal first leg at Old Trafford this morning.

The defender gave Barca the lead 12 minutes in, when he deflected Luis Suarez's header into his own net, with the goal confirmed following a VAR review.

The Red Devils, who overcame a two-goal deficit against PSG in the previous round, will now need to produce another comeback at the Nou Camp next week, if they are to progress into the last-4.

Over in Amsterdam, Ajax and Juventus drew 1-all to keep their Champions League quarterfinal evenly-matched, ahead of next week's second leg.

The opener came from Cristiano Ronaldo at the tail end of the first half, before youngster David Neres equalised just 30 seconds into the second period.

Incidently, Ronaldo's strike was his 125th Champions League goal.
