Bottas claims pole position for Austrian Grand Prix
Jul 09, 2017
Mercedes' Valtteri Bottas has claimed pole position for the Austrian F1 Grand Prix.
Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel was the 2nd quickest, followed by Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton.
However, Hamilton will start in 8th, due to a penalty on an unscheduled gearbox change.
This means Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen will start in 3rd, ahead of Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo.
Separately, the Silverstone circuit in the UK is expected to end its F1 contract after 2019.
According to reports, F1 officials have not come up with a sensible offer to try to secure the future of the British Grand Prix.
This, as McLaren's boss has asked F1's owners to just buy the Silverstone circuit.
