Liverpool’s hopes of breaking the Premier League points record has ended after the Reds fell to a 2-1 defeat to Arsenal at the Emirates this morning.
The Gunners capitalized on two uncharacteristic defensive errors by the Reds to take the victory via Alexandre Lacazette and Reiss Nelson.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp admits such mistakes are unacceptable at this level.
“We lost concentration, and this is the Premier League, you cannot do that. We usually don’t do that, but we did it today. And Arsenal were there twice. It was enough for us today. We have to take that and learn from that, 100%”
The loss means that Liverpool will not be able to beat Man City’s record of 100 points in a single season.
Klopp’s side are currently on 93 points, with two games remaining.
In other results, Harry Kane surpassed the 200 goals mark at club level, scoring twice to help Tottenham beat Newcastle 3-1.

Elsewhere, Man City defeated Bournemouth 2-1, while Burnley and Wolves played to a 1-1 draw.
SEA Games medal hopes dashed
Malaysia has lost the chance to win at least 14 medals at the upcoming SEA Games, after hosts Vietnam decided to drop several sports for the next edition of the Games in 2021.

Among them include netball, hockey, sailing, lawn bowls and tenpin bowling, all of which have consistently contributed gold medals for the Malaysian contingent in the past.
