Arsenal complete deadline-day signing of Atletico's Partey

Arsenal have announced the signing of long-time target Thomas Partey from Atletico Madrid.

The Gunners left it late to complete the deal, meeting the player's 45 million pounds release clause in the final moments before the close of the transfer window this morning.

Partey has been one of Atletico's standout players, and was a key figure in the Spanish club's Champions League campaign.

Another big deadline-day deal saw Man United complete the signing of free agent Edinson Cavani. 

The 33-year-old striker has not played competitively since leaving PSG in June, but brings a wealth of experience, having scored 341 goals in over 500 club matches over his career.

United have also brought in left-back Alexander Telles, who joins from Porto for just over 13 million pounds.

Turkish GP U-turn

Organisers of the Turkish F1 GP have scrapped plans to allow spectators in for next month's race, amid a spike in Covid-19 cases in Europe.

They had been hoping to attract as many as 100 thousand fans for the event.
