Liverpool’s season has gone from bad to worse after a 3-0 defeat to Crystal Palace in the EFL Cup last-16 this morning.

Reds boss Arne Slot had opted for a youthful lineup, with seniors like Virgil Van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate, Dominik Szoboszlai and Mo Salah all absent.

The gamble backfired with Liverpool suffering from poor defending once again to fall to their sixth defeat in their last seven games across all competitions.

In other EFL Cup results, holders Newcastle overcame Tottenham 2-0.

Chelsea edged past Wolves 4-3.

Man City had a 3-1 victory over Swansea.

While Arsenal beat Brighton 2-0.

Elsewhere, Bayern Munich defeated Cologne 4-1 in the second round of the German Cup…to record their 14th win in as many matches across all competitions this season.

Sabah have made the FA Cup semifinals after beating Kelantan The Real Warriors 3-1 last night and 5-2 on aggregate.

Selangor lost 3-2 to Negeri Sembilan but still advance to the semis with a 6-3 aggregate scoreline.

In other developments back home…the Youth and Sports Ministry says a drag racing circuit will be built in Sepang next year, as part of efforts to strengthen the development of motorsports in the country.
