Jun 25, 2024

selangor fc punished for charity shield pullout

The Malaysian Football League has slapped a RM100,000 fine on Selangor FC, over its decision to pull out of last month’s Charity Shield match against JDT.

Selangor was also ordered to pay compensation to JDT and the MFL for costs incurred and were handed a three-point deduction in the Liga Super.

Selangor withdrew from the match for safety reasons following the acid attack on Faisal Halim.

Kylian Mbappe could make his return to France’s Euro 2024 squad, in tonight’s final Group D clash against Poland.

This is after the striker, who suffered a broken nose in their opening game, played in a closed-door practice match at the weekend.

Also, the Netherlands should have a fully-fit squad for their final Group D match against Austria.

Holland currently top the Group, ahead of France on goals scored.

Meanwhile, England go into their final Group C game, against Slovenia after already being guaranteed a spot in the last-16.

Denmark will also qualify out of the group with a victory against Serbia.

And Liverpool goalkeeper Adrian is finalising a permanent move to La Liga side Real Betis.

The Spaniard turned down a contract extension after falling behind Alisson Becker and Caoimhin Kelleher in the club’s pecking order.
