Gundogan to sign for Barca

Man City’s Ilkay Gundogan is set to join Barcelona on a free transfer.

The captain - whose contract with the Citizens expires at the end of this month – has penned a three-year deal with the Catalans.

Meanwhile, the treble winners have agreed to sign Mateo Kovacic from Chelsea in a deal worth up to 30 million pounds.

The midfielder is set to become City’s first signing of the summer transfer window.

Separately, Arsenal have agreed a in principle to sign Chelsea’s Kai Havertz, in a deal worth about 65 million pounds.

In other developments, Man United’s second bid for Mason Mount -worth up to 50 million pounds- has been rejected by Chelsea.

It is understood that the Blues will only let the midfielder go for between 60-65 million.

And a UK fan-survey has revealed that over 63 percent of supporters oppose the use of VAR in English football.

This compares to the 74 percent of fans who approved of the video assistant referee in 2017, prior to its implementation.
