Verstappen claims Canadian GP win

Red Bull’s Max Verstappen has won the Canadian F1 GP, ahead of Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz and Lewis Hamilton in the Mercedes.
It helped Verstappen open up a 46-point lead at the top of the driver’s standings…while for Hamilton, this was only his second podium finish of the season.
The championship leader is also 49 points ahead of Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc, who could only manage a fifth place finish in Montreal.

Malaysian cyclist Nurul Izzah Izzati has won the women’s 500m time trial at the Asian Track Cycling Championships.
The 19-year-old is the first Malaysian to win the event at the Asian meet.
Meanwhile, compatriot Shah Firdaus Sahrom took the silver in the men’s Keirin final.

Spurs are hoping that the prospect of Champions League football next season, will be enough to tempt the player away from their North London rivals.
