Routine Club World Cup Win For Chelsea

Chelsea have kicked off their Club World Cup campaign, with a 2-0 win over Los Angeles FC.

The match also saw Liam Delap make his debut for the Blues, with the striker providing an assist for one of the goals.

Another match saw Brazilian side Botafogo edged past American club Seattle Sounders 2-1.

In other developments, Man City’s veteran defender Kyle Walker has reportedly agreed to join Everton, although the clubs have yet to work out whether it will be a permanent or loan deal.

Arsenal are said to have rejected an approach from AC Milan for defender Riccardo Calafiori, with the Gunners keen to retain his services despite an injury-plagued campaign last season.

The national hockey team’s hopes of advancing to the semifinals of the FIH Nations Cup has suffered a blow, after giving up a three-goal lead to lose 4-3 to New Zealand.

The defeat leaves the Speedy Tigers third in their group, with only the top two teams advancing to the semis.
