Defending champions Italy have opened their Euro 2024 campaign with a 2-1 win over Alabania.

The Azzurri fell behind after just 23 seconds…when Nedim Bajrami netted the fastest-ever goal in a European Championship match.

The holders, however, replied through first half goals from Alessandro Bastoni and Nicolo Barella to take the win.

In other results…Spain recorded a 3-0 opening win over Croatia.

While Switzerland were 3-1 winners over Hungary.

In other developments, Man United are reportedly prepping a summer move for Bayern Munich defender Matthijs de Ligt.

The Dutch international could be available for around 42 million pounds.

Back home in FA Cup last-16 action…JDT thrashed Kelantan 4-0
