Optimism High Ahead Of Crunch Tie

Jun 11, 2024

optimism high ahead of crunch tie

Harimau Malaya coach Kim Pan Gon is optimistic his side can record a big win over Chinese Taipei…in their World Cup and Asian Cup qualifier in KL tonight.

He says even though the team is missing several star players through injury, he’s confident the rest of the squad can step up and play their part.

The national team need at least seven goals to stand a chance of qualifying automatically for the Asian Cup.

-

The Netherlands will be without influential midfielder Frenkie De Jong for their Euro 2024 campaign.

The Barcelona star has been suffering from an ankle injury, but was included in the squad in the hope that he could recover in time for the tournament.

The Dutch, however, have now confirmed that De Jong has been forced to pull out…ahead of their Group D opener against Poland this Sunday.

-

Real Madrid have clarified that they will be taking part in next year’s Club World Cup.

This, despite manager Carlo Ancelotti earlier saying that the Spanish champions would refuse to participate because of the low compensation offered by FIFA.

Ancelotti, however later cleared the air…saying his comments had been misinterpreted.

-

Separately, three Valencia supporters have been sentenced to eight months in prison, for racially abusing Real forward Vinicius Jr during a La Liga match last year.
