Juventus threatened with Serie A expulsion

The Italian Football Federation has warned Juventus that they face expulsion from the Serie A next season, if they remain part of the European Super League.

Juve, along with Real Madrid and Barcelona, are the only remaining members of the controversial breakaway competition.

Nine other clubs – including the Premiership’s Big Six – have since pulled out amid intense criticism over their participation.

Portugal has emerged as a potential new venue for the Champions League final.

The tie between Man City and Chelsea was originally due to take place in Istanbul, but is now likely to be moved due to rising Covid-19 cases…and Turkey’s inclusion in the UK’s red-list of countries.

The UK had earlier been proposed as an alternative venue, but sources say there are problems over the waiving of quarantine rules for visiting delegates, broadcasters and sponsors.

A final decision is expected to be made later today.

Edinson Cavani has signed a contract extension to remain with Man United for another season.

The striker – whose current deal was due to expire in the summer – has had a strong finish to the current campaign…scoring eight goals in seven matches.

Fulham are the third and final team to be relegated from the Premier League, after their 2-nil defeat to Burnley this morning.

They join Sheffield United and West Brom in dropping to the Championship next season.
