Barcelona’s expected fightback in the Champions League failed to materialize, after the Catalan side could only manage a 1-1 draw with PSG in the second-leg of their last-16 tie this morning.
PSG, who were leading 4-1 from the first leg, go through to the quarterfinals on a 5-2 aggregate.
This is also the first time since 2007 that Barca have failed to reach the quarterfinals of the Champions League.

Over in the EPL…Man City have bounced back from their defeat in the Manchester derby, by recording a thumping 5-2 victory over Southampton this morning.
It moves them 14 points clear at the top of the Premiership table, although they’ve played a game more than second-placed Man United.
City now need just six more wins from their remaining nine matches, to be guaranteed their third league title in four seasons.
