Arsenal have taken a massive step towards the last four of the Champions League, after a stunning 3-0 win over Real Madrid in the first leg of their quarterfinal this morning.

Declan Rice netted twice for the Gunners, with two well-taken free kicks.

Real now face an uphill battle in the return leg, having never managed to overturn a three-goal first leg deficit on home ground in the tournament.

Meanwhile, Inter Milan have a slight advantage in their quarterfinal matchup, after a 2-1 first leg victory over Bayern Munich in Germany.

The defeat ends Bayern’s 22-match unbeaten home run in the competition that stretched back to 2021.
