Dhabitah Reaches Paris Final

Aug 08, 2024

dhabitah reaches paris final

Malaysian diver Nur Dhabitah Sabr is still in the hunt for a Paris Olympics medal.

This is after she earned a place in the final for the women’s 3m springboard event, after finishing in 8th place in the semis.

The top 12 divers advance to the final.

Young weightlifter Aniq Kasdan will receive the full backing of the government’s Road to Gold Progamme, to prepare him for future competitions.

Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh says such support will help his development and hopefully, he’ll win gold at the next Olympics in Los Angeles.

This, following the 22-year-old's impressive outing at his first-ever Olympics in Paris last night.

Aniq narrowly missed out on a bronze medal in the 61kg category.

--

Separately, Hannah Yeoh says she was simply showing good sportsmanship, after being criticized for taking a photo with the Thai badminton player who defeated Lee Zii Jia in Paris.

She adds that there's nothing wrong with acknowledging an opponent's strength.
