Is This United's Last Trophy Shot?

Jan 08, 2024

is this united's last trophy shot?

(Will United end the season with a trophy cabinet as bare as the top of Ten Hag's head?)

Man United boss Erik ten Hag is expected to field his strongest possible side in tomorrow morning's FA Cup 3rd round clash against Wigan.

This means that Alejandro Garnacho, Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes are all expected to start.

It's because the FA Cup is United's last shot for a trophy this season, having already been knocked out of the Champions League and EFL Cup, while they are lagging behind in the Premier League.

--

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has praised his team's resilience, after they scored two late goals to beat Arsenal 2-nil in the 3rd round of the FA Cup.

He was especially happy with how they coped with the absence of players like Mo Salah, Wataru Endo and Virgil van Dijk.

Salah and Endo are away on international duty, while Van Dijk is ill.

--

Meanwhile, reports say that Liverpool could earn at least one million pounds, if Saudi side al-Ettifaq decide to sell the unsettled Jordan Henderson.

It's under a sell-on clause that Liverpool negotiated with al-Ettifaq, when they negotiated his transfer last summer.
