Malaysia Focusing On New Sports For Olympics

Nov 07, 2024

malaysia focusing on new sports for olympics

The Youth and Sports Ministry is stepping up efforts towards increasing Malaysia's medal tally in future Olympic events.

As such, it'll focus on developing new sports such as skateboarding, climbing, and surfing.

This, in light of the recent results of the national squad at the Paris Olympic Games.

The ministry adds that it'll hold a post-mortem session next week regarding the Games.

The findings will then be used to develop strategies for the 2028 Los Angeles edition.

Mercedes has hinted at the return of Valtteri Bottas back to the team, amid rumors that he'll re-join as a reserve driver following his exit from Sauber earlier this week.

This, after Sauber announced that McLaren junior driver Gabriel Bortoleto will join the team as Nico Hulkenberg’s 2025 team-mate.

---

And Australia's Raygun has announced that she will retire from competing following the criticism to her breakdance performance at the Paris Olympics.

This, after she failed to get on the scoreboard in all three rounds with a routine that included unorthodox moves, such as the sprinkler and a kangaroo hop.
