Meanwhile, runner Muhammad Ammar Aiman narrowly missed out on a bronze, after finishing fourth in the T20 400m event.

While Nazmi Nazri had to settle for fifth place in the men’s T37 long-jump final.

Pearly Tan and M.Thinaah have moved up one spot to eighth in the latest badminton world rankings.

This is the women’s doubles pair’s best position in nearly a year and a half.

It also caps a remarkable few weeks for the duo…who reached the semifinals of the Paris Olympics, before ending as runners-up at the recent Korean Open.

-

Liverpool are reportedly prepared to open contract talks with Mo Salah…despite the striker recently saying this is his last season at the club.

-

Netherlands captain Virgil Van Dijk has committed his immediate future to the national team…with the Liverpool defender to play for his country until the 2026 World Cup at least.

-

And, fourth seed Alexander Zverev has crashed out of the US tennis Open…after a surprise defeat to Taylor Fritz in the quarterfinals.
