Verstappen tops first free practice at Malaysian Grand Prix
Sep 29, 2017
Max Verstappen has topped the first free practice at the Malaysian F1 Grand Prix, while his Red Bull team mate Daniel Ricciardo was 2nd fastest.
McLaren's Fernando Alonso took 3rd, followed by Ferrari duo Kimi Raikkonen and Sebastian Vettel, while championship leader Lewis Hamilton of Mercedes was 6th fastest.
Meanwhile, the start of the session was delayed by half an hour because of heavy rain, but there were no major incidents despite the wet conditions.
Both Ferrari drivers had minor off-track moments without damaging their cars, while a Renault reserve driver had a half-spin at Turn Two.
