United lose Europa League opener

Sep 16, 2016

Man United have suffered their 2nd defeat in a week, after losing 1-nil at Feyenoord in their opening Europa League match.

United made 8 changes to the team that were beaten 2-1 by Man City at the weekend, with Paul Pogba, David de Gea and Eric Bailly the only players that were retained.

But the underperforming team failed to get a result against the Dutch side, who scored with 12 minutes remaining.

Boss Jose Mourinho has refused to blame his players, and instead pointed out that the winning goal should have been ruled out for offside.

Elsewhere, Southampton came out as 3-nil winners against Sparta Prague.

Roma drew 1-all with Viktoria Plzen

Inter lost 2-nil to Hapoel Beer Sheva

And Villarreal beat FC Zurich 2 - 1
