UEFA names Modric Player of the Year
Aug 31, 2018

Luka Modric has been named UEFA Men's Player of the Year, ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo and Mohamed Salah.
The midfielder picks up the award after guiding Real Madrid to a third straight Champions League title, and leading Croatia to the World Cup final, where they lost to France.
Meanwhile, Real also swept the overall election for best players in last season's Champions League, after goalkeeper Keylor Navas, defender Sergio Ramos, midfielder Modric and forward Ronaldo all won the individual positional prizes.

Separately, the 2018/19 UEFA Champions League group stage draw has been made.
Highlights of the draw include Atlético Madrid vs Borussia Dortmund in Group A,
Barcelona vs Tottenham in Group B,
PSG vs Liverpool in Group C,
Manchester City vs Lyon in Group F,
Real Madrid vs Roma in Group G,
And in Group H, Juventus vs Manchester United, which would mean a return to Old Trafford for Cristiano Ronaldo.
