Thiem wants to end Serena feud through mixed doubles

Jun 12, 2019

Austrian tennis star Dominic Thiem is hoping to clear the air with Serena Williams, by offering to partner up with her in mixed doubles at Wimbledon or the US Open.

This, after their media room misunderstanding at last week's French Open, in which Thiem was left fuming when asked to make way for her at a post-match news conference, following her third round defeat.

Thiem then accused Williams of showing "bad personality" and treating him like "a junior", but he has now extended the invitation to make amends.

Pep Guardiola looks at sabbatical

Pep Guardiola is reportedly talking about leaving Manchester City.

Sources say the City manager is considering a 12-month break from football, IF they go on to win the Champions League next season.

According to insiders, he's been left mentally exhausted after last season's domestic Treble haul of Premiership, League Cup and FA Cup titles.

Guardiola did the same thing after leaving Barcelona in 2012, taking a year off the game before joining Bayern Munich.

De Ligt picks Barcelona?

In-demand Ajax captain Matthijs de Ligt seems most keen to join Barcelona.

The 19-year-old is widely expected to move to a top European club this summer, and admits he'd enjoy playing alongside compatriot Frenkie de Jong, and legendary forward Lionel Messi at Camp Nou.

De Ligt, who has also been linked with PSG, could make a final decision on his future this week.
